Warmer temps and longer days mean it’s time to come out of hibernation and take part in the growth and rebirth that is happening all around us in nature.
I love revamping my self-care routines with the changes in the seasons. It works so well, because with the new seasons comes new activities and even new schedules and what I need to feel refreshed and renewed in April could be totally different than what I needed in December. The seasons play such an important part in how we spend our time and our self-care routines are no exception to this.
So today, I ask you to think about spring and all that it symbolizes for you. Look at springtime images of flowers. Feel the warm sun on your face. The spring showers on your skin. Listen to the spring time sounds…birds chirping, peepers peeping.
Now think about this...what do you need in order to feel pampered and ready to live your best life?
Here are some springtime self-care suggestions:
- Head out to a local nursery to start planning your gardening. Even if you aren’t planning a garden, being among the flowers and shrubs will help you get into the mood of the season.
- Find a café that offers a natural view, whether it’s a garden, forest, river, or the ocean. If it’s warm enough look for out-door seating.
- Prepare your body for the warmer temps by scheduling a mani-pedi or sea salt body scrub. Time to slough off all of the winter dryness.
- Take a walk in nature. Again the options are endless for beautiful views. Use all of your senses to take in the nature around you.
- Create a meal with seasonal produce.
- Sign up for a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) membership. CSAs vary from providing boxes or bags of fruits and veggies chosen for you to a gift card balance to be used each month on veggies of your choice. Research programs near you.
- Pinterest is another way to plan your summer garden now. Create a board and start pinning favorites. Flowers, shrubs, fruits, veggies, or even out door space designs.
- Pack a picnic and find a quiet space to eat outside.
